36) Can we consider football a cultural phenomenon?

The ball in football is universal. We know that football is a group and cultural paradigm, which is to say, any social phenomenon is reproducible in the world of football and everything that happens in football (by means of infusion) sooner or later it is reproduced in culture, health, education, and in worldwide economy. In this sense we say paradigm, which as such can be studied from the singular to the general.

Examples and fruit of this are: the Bosman law, the creation of the Anonymous Sports Society, the study of xenophobia in football stadiums, the regulation of international events of female football, the mediation from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the guardianship of the youth in football in terms of signings and contracts, the creation of different associations in different sporting establishments  ... and for all this its necessary in the hiring of specialized professionals in football: lawyers, journalists, doctors, psychoanalysts, computer scientists...

It is more productive to think of football as a human production, consequently a universal phenomenon (such as the dream and the family) since all dreams and have family. We all have been part of a group; in fact we were born into a group formation as families. From there emerges the importance of the affects in the sporting evolution of a team. (To be continued…)

33) ¿CÓMO PUEDE PENSARSE O QUE RELACIÓN HAY ENTRE LA SALUD Y EL DEPORTE?/ HOW COULD IT BE THOUGHT OF OR WHAT RELATION THERE IS BETWEEN HEALTH AND SPORT?

33) How could it be thought of or what relation there is between health and sport?

In sport as in any sporting activity, there is always an element at play: the athlete.

Humans are unique in each and every different facet in which we participate: family, work, studies, and, likewise in sports as well. This is more noticeable, especially in professional athletes due to the requirement of high competition, which neither begins nor ends on the field.

It is very important for the athletes to take continuous care of their bodies in order to obtain good results. But training the body is not the only thing. All professional sports, and football is a clear example, know the valuable role that a state of mind plays in obtaining the best result.

And, it may be very severe, but the results in the highest competition are the turning point which determines the future of the athlete.

Specialists in psychoanalysis know perfectly about the complexity of the different feelings, emotions and the relationship of these in the group, where most team sports are developed, such as football (football)...

Different factors can be considered: from prevention and treatment of injuries or how to overcome adversities even in the following moments succeeding great triumphs, since we have seen prestigious sporting clubs precipitously plummet or great athletes crumble after a title or making a historical mark, a record, or a club change that "should" have brought about an economic benefit or sporting improvement.

Important in day to day life and the "invisible" training of an athlete are the ¨changing situations¨ such as: a wedding,  international participation in football,  award nomination, the birth of a child, the death of a relative, a change of club or country, descents or ascents of category, retirement ... that can cause difficulties. These are changing situations to be tended to with precision since the small modifications are the most difficult to obtain and generally represent further change for the athlete. 14) ¿EL FÚTBOL ES EL DEPORTE PREFERIDO O MÁS PRACTICADO POR LOS ESPAÑOLES?/ IS FOOTBALL THE FAVOURITE SPORT OR THE MOST PRACTICED BY SPANIARDS?

14) Is Football the favourite sport or the most practiced by Spaniards?

A survey conducted by the Sociological Research Centre (CIS) in 2007, tells us that football is still the favourite sport and the most practiced by Spaniards.

Among the interesting issues from the surveyed, the most priority it is the health, secondly cultural and thirdly  sports events which fuel the greatest involvement of the population, being curiously the most spoken and which best information have the respondents.

The set of all sports is headed by football, with 55% of followers, then tennis with 40%, motoring with 30%, lowering the basketball to fourth place, being displaced from the second position which it held for years. We imagine that characters as Fernando Alonso and Rafael Nadal, are directly responsible for the growing interest in motor racing and tennis respectively. (To be continued...)

7) ¿CUÁNDO COMENZÓ EL FÚTBOL FEMENINO? / WHEN DID THE FEMALE FOOTBALL START?

7) When did the female football start?

In Europe during Great World War what happened was that women, especially in Britain and France and overall the young workers from the ammunition factories, started to play football to occupy their free time.

The institution in charge of promoting it was the Ammunition’s Ministry which ordered the creation of a health and welfare section for the recreation of these young girls, were football was included among the different sports. Thereafter dancing, swimming, and football were the three preferred modalities for the female workers.

By 1951 International Institutions FA and FIFA, opposed to the female football growth and they advises against its practice arguing certain hazard for the female body.

However women in Europe and America had adopted the game as their own and they organized sports events and they set up clubs.
The first Women’s World Football Championship was performed in Italy in 1970 where the Danish players were proclaimed The World Champions in an unofficially tournament.

The First official Female European Championship was organized in 1984.At the beginning FIFA intervened dramatically against Asian Football Confederation which organized the First Women’s Football Cup in 1975 but with the advance of women’s football and to be able to control all international football FIFA congress in 1986 claimed a true policy in favor of women’s football.

The first international tournament organized by FIFA, was held in Taiwan in 1987 and the home team won the final against USA.

A curious fact was that The Swiss Federation’s President due to the success of the number of spectators and the whole event wanted to propose the Nobel Peace Prize to FIFA’S president who was at that time Joao Havelange. (To be continued…)
