3) ¿ EL FÚTBOL SE PRACTICA PRINCIPALMENTE EN EUROPA Y SUR DE AMÉRICA ? / IS FOOTBALL ( SOCCER) MAINLY PRACTICED IN EUROPE AND SOUTH AMERICA?

3) Is football mainly practiced in Europe and South America?

Football is played worldwide. Some figures of interest which were recently made public by FIFA (June 2007) are:
- More than 4% of the population practice the sport named "Sport King".
- There are 265 million football players and 5 million among coaches, referees, advisers and managers. More over from these 265 million, 38 are federated footballers and the rest belong to the school football, college, military, business, neighbourhood soccer ... It means all classes are represented in this sport.
- If we would add amateur players, figures would reach 1,000 million people who play football regularly. On which, one million are indoor football and beach soccer, so we can say that the desire of playing football, creates new scenarios and invents new areas for its development.
- For professional football, opening the question is mainly in the area named UEFA. In Oceania there is no such professional football. There are three countries which dominate interestingly, in terms of number of players (even though currently they are not football potentials) and they are: China with 26 million, in the second place U.S with 24 million and the third country is India with 20 million people with practice it, then Germany with 16, Brazil with 13 and Mexico with 8 million. Spain occupies in this ranking the 20th place with 2,834,000 players.
- In the female football the figures have increased from 22 millions people who practiced it in 2000 to 26 millions people who practiced in 2006.
- Finally some economic data, according to the Deloitte study: the Spanish league is the third richest in the world with revenues of 1,158 million Euros in 2005-2006.The Premier League leads this section  with 2,000 million revenue and a profit of 10%, it means 200 million Euros.

FOOTBALL ( SOCCER ) STORIES VII

What did that football was spread worldwide in a very few years, to all social classes, in every continent, being practiced for millions of people, in every place, on different surfaces and in every language?

Centuries later mathematics produced the natural number and physics spread formulas (taking the formal vacuum from the geometrical proportion) the machine and mass production were invented and we went from feudalism to capitalism.
As well from 1845 to 1900 it would have to produce another two Scientifics facts: the birth of Marxism and Psychoanalysis which revolutionized the workplace, political economy, health, education, art, sport and dreams. Two scientific theories that subverted the thought and collaborated in the diffusion of goods and culture (football is and example) thanks to the great industrial and commercial expansion which began in Britain.

What is wanted are wishes and not the languages but the way of using the language which allows the transmission and diffusion of all human, as well it is not the ball if not it is the game which invents and produces the toy.

The first international match played with a score of eleven against eleven, in which one is aware (written information) was in March 11th, 1870 between England and Scotland.

There is a history which is always written by the victors. Great athletes have spoken of football as a game, a passion. "Football can get what bullets cannot." "Football is not a matter of life or death, but something more important." "Football is something artistic and requires a poetic soul"."Football is bread for today and hungers for tomorrow, so I say to young people grab the books they do not bite." Spoken phrases by great players, allow us to think along with poetry (as history and instrument of knowledge) Football Stories displaying different questions. (To be continued…)

FOOTBALL (SOCCER) STORIES III

The first FA Challenge Cup took place during the 1871-1872 seasons.

Alcock's team, the Wanderers, won the beginning of the finals with the  score of 1 to 0 against the Royal Engineers.

In this first competition only fifteen teams from the fifty of the FA participated. The number of participants was increasing gradually. During this period (1883-84) the associations of Scotland, Wales and Ireland and other regional associations of England established various competitions, thus the FA was spread and it contributed to football surpassing its great rival: rugby.

The various competitions contributed in giving publicity to football, in the same instance, due to be relying on local rivalries existent in the community, providing opportunity to arouse passions as competitively and generate bets.

The different elements of the great passion that football represents were building gradually. We know that passion is generated amongst people and amongst the alliances which are established after their respective pacts are made.
The journalists started to promote the sport, the ambition of winning to the local rivals (the narcissism of the small differences) led to teams trying to secure the best players, taking them from other clubs, if it were necessary, with better job offers and later with money.
The expansion of football toward the provinces caused its practice to be adopted by other social classes. Young people who had organized the FA belonged to the wealthy middle class and the well-established, but the activists of the football associations of the counties, and even more those of the individual football clubs, were mixed with a large number of people coming from the lower middle class and even with the working-class players.
